Toki Pona

Toki Pona is a minimalist constructed language created by Sonja Lang in 2001. It conveys nuanced ideas with only 120 words and least grammar rules.

Influenced by its translation of Huang Tsiocfui’s Firefly, I learned Toki Pona in Summer 2021. I memorized almost all the words by trying to translate an essay (Living in a Tree) without prior knowledge, only consulting a dictionary.

The largest known Chinese-language Toki Pona community is kulupu pi toki pona lon ilo QQ.
